By now most SCC groups have completed the At Prayer with Mary programme. The feedback session will be included in the next Tuesday training. The time will be limited hence I recommend that we start sharing with other groups on email and using other platforms to state what were the activities/actions taken, problems experienced and successes achieved.
Highlights from our SCC group :
- SCC members took active part to promote the Youth Conference which was held on 13 June in our Parish. Refreshments i.e. cakes, tea, sugar, coffee etc were donated, parents offered valuable time and advice to make the Youth a success. The downside is that a few of our Youth participated in the conference. The youth conference was resounding success and we achieved the objective of redefining the meaning of hosting/hopitality. The Youth Department at the Chancery are reconsidering to visit us again.
- Our SCC group raised R300 for Ines Antonia, (we were dwarfed by another SCC group has managed to raise R4000) we are humbled by such generosity. Short background info about Ines Antonia, she is our parishioner in our parish, a Mozambican lady who was burned with acid by her ex-boy friend. She needs R20000 for facial reconstruction.
- Members of our SCC group postponed a scheduled Renew Africa session to attend a memorial service for
Mr Mathumo Matthews Mapaya a parishioner at Maryvale who together with other four people were tragically shot on the 3rd June 2015 at Alexander Police Station.
We are grateful of Renew Africa. It is making us Good hearers of the Gospel and Good dowers of the Word of God. In our small ways we are doing God’s will and bringing about God’s Kingdom here on earth.
