It is deep regret that we have to notify you of the loss of Sister, Sr. Melanie Marie Hester Missionary of Saint Charles Scalabrinian, who sadly passed away early hours of 15th January 2013 aged 58 years.
Sr Melanie dedicated her whole life to migrants and refugees and was living in South Africa for many years carrying out this truly magnificent Mission both at Bienvenu Shelter and Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees of the Catholic Archdiocese of Johannesburg.
It is such a great loss both to her family, The Scalabrinian Congregation, friends and all the people she assisted throughout the years. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial Mass will take place on Saturday 19 of January at the Cathedral Christ the King at 10 o’clock.
May she rest in peace and may God give us the strength to continue with the Mission she dedicated her life to.
