The catechetical department is preparing for our annual FORMATION & CREATIVITY DAY for catechists on the 20th of August 2016. We sincerely invite all of you to take a part of this exciting and important day for catechists. It is a pleasure to let you know that this year is going to be more of creative activities than before as we want to help to the catechists in their preparations for the classes and that those classes could be more active and creative. We encourage all of you to start with the registrations as soon as possible that we can organize better and accommodate all of you.
The details needed to register for the day are as follows:
- Registration fee: R75.00 per catechist;
- Late registration fee: R100.00 per catechist;
- Closing date for registrations: 12 August 2016;
- Registration forms attached to the letter should be filled up by catechist with the choices of the speakers (1 for formation part and 1 for creativity part) and sent with the registration fee to the catechetical dept. before the closing date;

The catechetical team is going to sell the T-shirts (R75.00) and Creative bags (R75.00) for catechists. If the catechists are interested buying them they can tick on the forms that will be issued.
T-Shirts are in three colours: white, blue and green. On the front on the right side is the logo of catechetical department with the words: Catechist Archdiocese of Johannesburg and on the back is the motto: We are the light of the world (Matt 5:14) and logo of the Catechetics. The pictures of the T-shirts will be on our Facebook group or in the office.
A creative bag is a set of the things needed for our prayer tables in the classrooms. Each includes 4 table clothes (green, white, red, purple) for every season (Ordinary time, Easter, Advent and Lent, and Pentecost), small candle with the logo of the year of mercy and a cross. The pictures of the Creative bags will be on our Facebook group or in the office.
The Pope Francis is calling us to be missionaries of mercy and serve to others with the works of mercy during the year of mercy. We would like to encourage all participants to bring some donations for those in need. They can be donated during the Mass collection in a form of money or items in a form of (soap, washing powder etc.) which we collect before Mass at the entrance.
