The celebration of 25 years of Kemolo ya Maria took the form of a night vigil with Mass, a healing service, Stations of the Cross Mary’s Way and praise and worship. There was also a ceremony to induct 82 new members who consecrated themselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a means of spiritual renewal for themselves as individuals and society. Mary Theresa Leboa, incoming President was pleased with the attendance at the night vigil. In welcoming the new members she encouraged them to work on their spiritual formation. During Mass on Saturday a Renew banner was raised symbolising Kemolo’s commitment to spiritual renewal.
In his homily, the Archbishop issued the sodality with three challenges. First, to study the scriptures and Church documents on Mary; to become experts on the role of Mary in our lives. Secondly, to recruit more members in the vein of the New Evangelisation and thirdly, to build a shrine to Mary Immaculate in the Archdiocese.
Fr Shaun encouraged members in their parish projects, their scripture reading and support of the priests and Archbishop. He congratulated them on the wonderful injection of the Spirit of Life and wished them a ‘happy 25th, praying that ‘Mother Mary may lead us to her Son.’
